UPDATE: Russia’s Raiffeisenbank mends most services after tech failure
(Changes headline, lede, adds details throughout story)
MOSCOW, Apr 20 (PRIME) -- The Russian subsidiary of Raiffeisenbank has resumed work of most of its services with the rest to be shortly mended after a technical failure, which occurred earlier on Friday and was not provoked by activities of the communications service, a bank spokesperson said.
“The communications service has nothing to do with the morning’s events. The failure was on our side,” the spokesperson said.
The watchdog’s muting of popular messenger Telegram was earlier reported to have caused troubles for certain resources because the authority is shutting down some IP addresses of U.S. giants Amazon and Google used by Telegram to skirt the blocking.
A number of the bank’s clients encountered problems in Raiffeisenbank’s online systems and ATMs due to the technical malfunction.
